Our Story
Chamber Principals of London comprises a unique blend of London's foremost symphony orchestra principals—from the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House—alongside professors from leading conservatoires, including the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy of Music.
The ensemble's members collectively bring decades of experience from the UK's leading musical institutions. More than just colleagues, they are long-time collaborators and friends, united by a shared artistic vision and a spirit of chamber music at its most communicative and alive.
The Ensemble's Vision
The Ensemble’s vision is to deliver a captivating array of classical and contemporary chamber music—of any formation—on a global stage, upholding the highest performance standards. They collaborate with esteemed composers and soloists while honouring the rich traditions of British chamber music.
Despite their extensive experience, the group remains artistically curious and forward-thinking, continually evolving their practice through new ideas and creative exploration. Their repertoire also includes operatic, ballet, and symphonic works reimagined through chamber arrangements, developed in close collaboration with composers to bring the scale and richness of these genres into more intimate settings.
At the core of their mission is a belief that chamber music is a conversation—one that invites the listener in. Whether performing in grand concert halls or smaller venues, the Ensemble strives to bridge the gap between stage and audience, creating moments of connection, reflection, and shared experience.
